The city of Chicago has tracked doorings—when a parked driver opens their door right in front of a cyclist—in accident reports for three years. Governor Pat Quinn has mandated that the rest of the state do it as well.

Is it me, or does $500 sound low for a dooring fine?

Definitely too low, but a start!

Phew. I’m glad this is on the books, because I almost was doored once and it SUCKED.
