I picked these up from the library today. I’m trying to read as many graphic novels as I can before I graduate.

Hello! I have followed you for a while but, first time asking. I'm going to be a college freshman next year and I'm considering DePaul, but I'm not totally sold. What about it did/do you like & hate?

I really like how connected I feel to the city. The campus is integrated pretty seamlessly with Lincoln Park, and the UPASS you receive allows you to explore everything Chicago has to offer. I love the flexibility I have within my majors, and my small classes that are taught by passionate professors. I love the visitors we are able to bring to the school. I love that I am able to balance vigorously academic courses and creative courses, and that I’m able to mingle and collaborate with people from all different areas of study.

I don’t really like the quarter system here, as the 6 week winter break is too long to enjoy and too short to get a good holiday job. The ten-week quarter doesn’t allow professors to get too in-depth with any particular readings or ideas either. I don’t like that the school isn’t as diverse as they advertise. And the cost of living in Chicago is generally pretty high. But I feel like all the cultural benefits and internship opportunities outweigh most of the negatives.

Hey guys, I’m a poetry reader for Threshold, DePaul’s art and literary magazine, this year. This is a cool thing. If you go to DePaul you should follow this Tumblr and submit your poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, screenplays, plays, or artwork. There’ll be more information at ThresholDepaul.tumblr.com.Submissions are open NOW and will close on February 15th, so don’t dilly-dally. Please submit! You probably write better than you realize, so there’s no reason not to.
